Get ready to enjoy your first holiday abroad with small children. Highlights include: being woken at 5 every morning and working a gruelling day in 30-degree heat chasing kids around the pool with a bottle of sunscreen. Added features: screaming during mealtimes and toddlers moaning about sand. Absolutely no sex guaranteed or your money back!

Katy and Ben and their four closest friends are going to Spain for a week with their kids. Sun, sex and sangria? Almost certainly not.

The couples think they are prepared for all the joys and trials a family holiday has to offer but they have a shock coming, and not only from the kids. Into their first day by the pool crashes Ollie, who has just been dumped by his girlfriend, and Cassie, on her hen party holiday but having serious doubts about her impending marriage. A recipe for a relaxing week abroad? Let’s wait and see…

From the no. 1 bestselling author of No-one Ever Has Sex on a Tuesday, this is the perfect book to read on the beach – either with or without small children. Perfect for fans of Nick Spalding, Marian Keyes and Gill Sims.

The Review: You will find there’s times  I have five star post after post and go to town on jumping around excitedly. Following the Laura Briggs gush (last rom com post), I moved into this, the absolute end game in Summer reads-a comedy about a group of friends heading off on holiday with all their kids. I don’t have much time to review this (eyes dart conspiratorially about the place, searching out the kids who are stirring upstairs, but in the same way there are times I get book cravings, there are times I feel the need to blog (gush, dream about) books that people HAVE to read!

In this instalment of the epic series (which I haven’t actually read in order and there are still more for me to read but I’ll get there!) the group are all heading off to Spain. With a range of kids in tow, they know that this isn’t going to be the chilled out holiday they used to have when they were child free, but don’t quite expect things to go this much off kilter!

With comic moments that made me actually snort out loud (I think Tracy Bloom is one of the few authors out there that makes me do this with each book!), this book sooo hit the spot! The lovely, huggable Braindead trying to get his head around why the other half is letting loose (in the hugest way) when she could be doting on their child, while another member of the group is wishing he could click with the baby thing as much as his husband. There are some epic new additions to the cast, the hen trying to escape all notions of a wedding while the people on said hen decide they want to go WILD (!), and the lovely Ollie who had been dumped before he reached the alter being standouts in the ‘oh I love them so much!’ stakes! I am posting it now because with less than a month left of the hollers, I feel everyone should get going and give this book a read for the ultimate in books you won’t want to put down, whether you’re poolside or at home. Excellent, excellent, excellent! Thanks so much to Netgalley and Bookouture for the book in return for an honest review.
